A Note from Tonight

We Remember the Rhythm That Was Already Inside Us

Standing on the beach in Ishigaki, something quiet begins to happen.

A person’s sensitivity slowly returns.

It is not created by a special performance.

It does not come from loud music, bright lights, or excessive service.

There is the moon.

There are the waves.

There is the wind, the darkness, and the sky slowly changing from dusk into night.

There is time that does not ask us to hurry.

By placing ourselves, even for just a few days, inside this natural system, we begin to remember a rhythm that was always within us.

Perhaps people are not truly seeking nature itself.

Perhaps they are seeking the self that is remembered in nature.

The moon, the waves, the wind, and music do not give us something new.

They quietly remind us of something that was already there.

The magic that happens on the beach in Ishigaki is not simply the moon or the waves themselves. It is the process of a person remembering their own original rhythm.

This is why Of Moon and Waves is not a project created to introduce nature. It is a record, a practice of creating places, and a prayer for people to recover their own sensitivity.
